f you don't have a smoker or your's isn't a maxkon please do yourself and your family/friends a big flavor and get you one! I have waited for years to get one and finally did. WOW. Great smoker. I don't have a large family so this 16" is fine. If you have a family get the biggest one. I have made amazing BBQ (pork where I'm from), smoked chicken, jalapeno poppers and more. Hold temps steady all thru the night. Just the past weekend I smoked 2 8lb butts overnight. Turned out great! Always cook a lot of food because of the time and effort it takes. Take good notes on your prep, rubs, cooking methods. Check out the forums for tips and tricks. Good luck!

Great heat management, once you get the fuel size figured out. Use more unlit charcoal than you think you would need. Does run hot the first few sessions until seasoned well. Great value and easy to break down and clean.

I jumped into the smoking arena with this beauty. My first cook was an easy one, beer can chicken. I cooked two birds and my family was amazed. It took some getting used to how to manipulate the vents to control the temp. But once you get the hang of it, the rest is easy. Don't hesitate, just buy it.

Best smokers out there! I am a novice smoker and this thing makes it impossible to mess up smoking. The air vents allow you to control the temperature exactly where you need it. I have many friends who have the standard side box smoker, and their wood and charcoal will just go critical and start on fire because it is not sealed. Also they use at least 2 times the amount of charcoal that this uses. It is nice that it has the silicone ports that you can insert your probe to get accurate temperature. I have smoked briskets, baby back ribs, pork shoulders on this and all have been delicious! You will not regret this purchase!
