I use this pad outside on our back patio. I have 3 cats that live as outdoor cats. They will come inside if the weather is very bad but they prefer to stay outside. I have numerous beds and shelters for them but for some reason they prefer to sleep under a plastic chair over which I have draped a heavy blanket. While this keeps them out of the wind it doesnt help with warmth. I put the pad under the chair and put a very thin baby blanket on top of it. It didnt take long for the cats to discover this new haven of warmth They love it I keep it on only at night and turn it off each morning. I highly recommend it to anyone. I love that I can set different settingstemperatures.
